I saw the movie "IT" again, based on a Stephen King book. Pretty good movie. I loved the clown, so sinister!

Started watching Ken Burns's Vietnam War. 2 episodes in. Seems all right, but I think I prefer The 10,000 Day War.

The Brain

Madhouse. Man with unlikely hairdo starts working at a psychiatric hospital, but the place turns out to be a... Madhouse. If you like old asylums as a horror setting (I do) it's ok. The chick is hot.
Women want me. Men want to be with me.

The Brain

Sorority Row. An innocent prank has deadly consequences, and later a mysterious killer starts offing those responsible. Doesn't add much to the genre. There are boobs.
Women want me. Men want to be with me.

The Brain

Loving Annabelle. Teacher and student at Catholic school find themselves attracted to each other in a lesbian way. Decent low-key drama.
Notes: There is some lesbian sex. The ending is better than I expected.
Women want me. Men want to be with me.

Josephus

Watching this Netflix thing called Safe. Seems pretty good so far, if you can get past Dexter talking with an English accent.
Civis Romanus Sum<br /><br />"My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we'll change the world." Jack Layton 1950-2011

Saw that one last month. It's worth a watch.

This is on Netflix in the US now. I recommend everyone, especially Americans, to go watch it. It is the 4th of July after all.
Person. Woman. Man. Camera. TV.

I thought the 4th was about defeating the British?

A little while ago I saw a Danish movie "Land of Mine". It's about a group of young German PoWs after the war in Denmark who are tasked with removing thousands of land mines from Danish beaches. Good movie, gritty, seemed well done.

Watched the first hour of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005). After the radio show, books, and TV show this seems rather superfluous, and felt pretty ... meh. I don't mind the plot changes so much, as there were plenty changes to the story throughout its history, but it just feels rather uninspired. It's trying to do fan service (remember these jokes???) and do something new (didn't see that coming!!!) and somewhere in between it falls apart.

Martin Freeman is fine as Arthur Dent, and Sam Rockwell really hits it as Zaphod Beeblebrox, though it feels he's mostly channeling Mark Wing-Davey who did Zaphod on the radio on TV. The book bits, while abridged were quite good, though, thanks to good animations and Stephen Fry copying Peter Jones's narrative style.

Wolves at the Door. Dirty hippies home invade people. Based on as somewhat well known incident... Not very engaging, and you're more annoyed at the hippies than anything else.

Watched Justice League, not really into these movies but I usually like them ok and this was no exception.

Syt

Watched the first three episodes of Dirk Gently on Netflix. Amusing and entertaining, though I wonder if all those strings can lead to a satisfying conclusion.

It surprisingly does. I mean, they manage to tie it all together, whether it's satisfying or not it's another matter but it did work for me. Season 2 kinda lost the plot though - then the show got cancelled.
