I teared up at quite a few scenes.

The replicant and hologram love story was bittersweet.

You guys should watch Maria Bamford's Lady Dynamite on Netflix.  She really is hilarious.

I watched it when it came out. Some of it is funny, some of it is just sad.

That's the whole point, that's what makes it great.

No, that is what makes it uncomfortable to watch.

Baby Driver. Not as fun as it could have been.

Still digesting.  Might be great or good or not, not sure.  Definitely very ambitious.  Soundtrack really needs to take some doggy downers.  It's exhausting to sit through.

The philosophical rumination on the nature of alienation and wanting to be loved and the super hottie love interest are the indisputable strong points.  I teared up at quite a few scenes.

Yeah, that's the strongest part of the film, and there's a good story there. But it's way way too long and imho unnecessarily so. It dillutes the film's punch.
I think at the end with the giant hotty-hologram advert the replicant guy realised it wasn't true love just the programming of the hologram, which, after realising he wasn't The Kid, killed off his other remaining illusion about being a "real person"
Spiderman Homecoming - I really don't know. It was decent but...lacking something. I didn't see the twist coming, which was cool. Though Iron Man being such a big part of Spiderman...It just feels off. I was really expecting Ironman to come in and save the day at the end actually, which would be terrible.
I think this film would be great if it was the first episode of a Spiderman TV series. As a big budget hollywood movie though it just doesn't feel right.

Something can be both great and uncomfortable to watch (or read, listen to, etc., depending on the medium).  Not having seen the work in question, I don't know if both, neither, or just one of them apply here.

Only what I said. A few laughs, mostly uncomfortable and sad. Like watching someone melting down.

The three foot long Cuban nipple boners in that scene had me verklempt.

I think there's two different ways to take that scene.  I'm not going to spoilerize because we all know she's a programmed hologram to start with so we have that tension from the start.  You can take it as it's all BS and everything sucks, or you can take it as yeah it's fake but so what?  Being with her still made him happy.

Did anyone else, when you saw the hologram's name spelled on the billboard, think of the porn meme jerk off instructions?

Just saw Mr. Robot is back. I'm not even sure I remember anything about the last season.

Kind of reminds me when I watched Beasts of No Nation
