I haven't seen any of the movies that got a Golden Globe nominations, haven't even heard of half of them. I'm no longer with it.

Those I've heard of but haven't seen. I'm planning to see Get Out at some point.

My advice is to see it twice.  Once you know what is going on it is good fun watching all the references.

We are stuck with the American market's love of superhero movies.  But even though we are stuck with them, they will hopefully grow out of this phase. 

They're still making all sorts of movies. What does it matter to you which grosses more?

I'd love more big hard sci-fi. We seem to be getting one of those per year (if lucky) vs. 6 superhero movies. 

Again, the market is dictating it so that's that.

It matters because movie makers like to make money. I am not sure what your point is.  If a large audience turned out for other kinds of movies, more of those types of movies (read anything but superhero movies) would be made.

Only movies with over the top action or suspense justify theater prices. The rest give you the same experience at home.

A MoviePass subscription means I don't care about justifying theater prices any more.

Got a 60-incher this BF, it will have to do.

Sure, theater would've been better but I hate going to the movies alone and couldn't get anybody to watch a war movie.
