so... period porn?
Being lazy is bad; unless you still get what you want, then it's called "patience".
Hubris must be punished. Severely.

The Intern, Robert DeNiro, Anne Hathaway.

Just makes you hate Millennials, the "start up" economy and Brooklyn even more.  Would've been better with a Billy Batts scene, DeNiro stomping the assfuck out of a soccermom at the park.

I don't know if it's coincidence, or some sort of "American Democracy Is Dead-a-Thon", but this weekend I'm seeing a lot of Tom Clancy movies and '80s Cold War stuff.  Red October to Red Dawn.  Remember when America was heroic?  When America fought the good fight against the Russians?  The Constitution, rule of law, apple pie?  All that bullshit?

Remember when everybody shit all over Hollywood's rewrite of The Sum of All Fears, when they replaced psycho Arab terrorists from the book with psycho European right-wing Neo-Nazis, out of post-9/11 sensitivity to Mooselimbs?

Remember how everybody went all  and whatnot?

Well it's not so fucking  anymore, now is it?

I do not hate you, nor do I love you, but you are made out of atoms which I can use for something else.

spent the last several hours binging the OA from start to finish. I liked it, but the show could have picked a better finish

I watched The Magicians. Kind of like Harry Potter* with college students. It was ok.

*Fillory was more like Narnia, but the show is mainly set on earth.

I'm struggling through episode six I think...I don't know I was expecting more.

that's a very valid complaint. imo, the characters are pretty good. the overarching plot is kind of a mess

He gets scruffier every day.  Come spring, he'll be out stealing picnic baskets.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Meh, come spring he'll just look even more like Rasputin.
