To sleep, perchance to dream. But in that sleep of death, what dreams may come?

Suite Francaise

I haven't read the book, so I can't compare, but I think the film really worked. There wasn't anything that was particularly unexpected in the narrative*, but then I don't think that is expected or even needed in a movie about a German occupied town in WWII.

My only critique would be whether or not the narration was needed. It wasn't overbearing by any means, but I wonder if the film would have study just as strong if those parts had just been left to rely on the visual image.

I am, of course, now suitably depressed and need to find something vapid and shallow to boost my spirits. -_- :Embarrass:

*though previews were a bit misleading, I think, as the focused almost exclusively on the romance plot.

Didn't know there was a film. Read the book some years ago.

According to IMDB has only been released in Italy, Ireland and UK so far. No date yet listed on when will be out in North America (other than later this year).

I had hoped that that situation was due to Interstellar having a much higher budget.  Boy, was I wrong.  T:AoE had a $45 million higher budget.  Damn.  That's terrible. :(

Transformers 4 was by far the lowest grossing franchise entry in the US, but made an absolute killing overseas and especially China. So that one's on us foreigners.  :(

Here's the article with links to all the calculations for every film, if you're so curious:

One of the reasons they give for Interstellar not making much money is that Nolan had a massive deal... 90 million(!!) all said and done.

Bridget Jones' Diary.  Holy shit, this chick gets shit on more than a German porn star.     Fucking hilarious.

That's weird.  I watched it too.

Incidentally, when I refer to women as overweight, I AM NOT REFERRING TO RENEE ZELLWEGER CIRCA 2001.  Jesus.

Dude, have you never seen it?  Fucking hilarious.  It's like Faces Of Death IV, but with Brits.

It's a complete scam.  Neurotic, self-hating, insecure woman is fought over by two alpha males.

Correct.

Meh.  They're both stupid overlong sci-fi movies.  One simply has more of the appearance of serious material.  Interstellar is a bit better, I suppose.  It's certainly not the artistic hill I'd expect anyone to die on.

So me and the wife watched the first episode of The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt kind of on a whim Saturday night.

They we watched the next nine episodes, and the last three last night.

Great show. Really, really well done. Quirky, fresh, a little bit bizarre at times, but it works.

I posted about it a page or two back.

It really is good.  I still have the last three episodes to go - might have to wait till Tuesday night though.

And the theme song is still caught in my head.

Caught the last three episodes.  I knew they were about the trial of Rev Richard Wayne Gary Wayne, and thus called back to the back story of the show, but didn't enjoy them quite as much.  I think I got annoyed at the OJ trial jokes (I mean really?  how dated are these jokes...).

But I know Netflix gave them a two season deal, and I'm quite excited to see where this goes in a year.  It was really quite a good show.

Favourite bit: When Titus decides that he gets treated better as a werewolf than living as a black man, so decide to become a werewolf full time.

Second favourite: opening episode shows tv coverage of the rescue of the "mole women":  the ticker shows "White women rescued!" subtitle goes "Hispanic woman also rescued".

Third favourite: when Titus is watching the trial at the library on the internet, the sign says "Please masturbate responsibly".

John Wick- I approved of all the wanton violence. And Adrianne Palicki is hot.

Mono, could I get a translation of this poster?

It's the Chinese poster for a Catalan movie that's not nearly as awesome as it looks in there
