Sometimes it's not as much the what but the how. Casablanca tells a story many times told under different guises, but it does it magnificently. The acting, directing and dialogues, etc... are just great.

Oh, shit, CDM reminded me in the OTT:

Duel is out on motherfucking blu-ray in May!  Regular sex with blowjobs and Duel in 1080p?  2015 is my fucking year of miracles, fellas.

Watching Duel on the big screen is even better.  :smarty:
Screened during a Spielberg retrospective at the Cinémathèque.

Villeneuve is an interesting director; I liked "Prisoners" quite a lot. I'm willing to give this a chance. Blade Runner is one of my favorite films of all time, but I'll try not to expect too much.

The new Alien movie won't be either exactly a sequel, a reboot or a standalone film. It will be a sequel to Aliens and "reboot" the rest of the continuity, erasing Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection (no complains). Do we have a name for this? Rebooquel? Seqboot?

A friend of mine has got his debut film accepted at SXSW. This is the trailer. It's about necrophilia.

NSFW, of course.

Really well done.

Spanish guys all have the same haircut too, it's just a different one than Poles get.  :P

Über patriotism.  Check.

French patriotism, American production. That's not typical.

It is pro-Allies against the Axis.  I mean how disgustingly uber patriotic can you be?  The film needed a more nuanced view.

The US wasn't at war when the original play was written. I don't know how overtly pro-Allies American media were in 1941, but it doesn't seem that clear-cut to me. That said, the film was done just a few months after PH.
