They have sold the film/TV adaptation rights to the Settlers of Catan game.

I wonder who is going to play the robber?  'Haha!  The pile of wood is mine'

Again I was joking about the 50/50 thing.  And there was this viral video going around a decade or so ago where some guy was singing about how being gay is a gift from Jesus because you get to have sex both ways.  So I was just joking around.  I certainly did not mean to offend anybody.

I wasn't offended. Just poking fun back. :P

I wasn't offended either.

Tenembaums is probably Anderson's best film. Life Aquatic is also great but whimsier. Moonrise Kingdom is whimsy as well but sweeter. Mr. Fox is great weird fun. Darjeeling was kinda boring.

Have you seen Rushmore?

I would rank them:

Rushmore
Budapest
Aquatic
Tennenbaums/Moonrise

Darjeeling

Haven't seen Mr. Fox.

Good list. I've never seen Darjeeling, though.

Me:

Budapest
.
.
.
Rushmore
Tenenbaums/Moonrise Kingdom
Fantastic Mr Fox
Life Aquatic
Person. Woman. Man. Camera. TV.

The Brain

My impression is that he always makes the same movie. Any truth to this?
Women want me. Men want to be with me.

I'll go and say I'm not a big Anderson fan, but my list would be:

Tennenbaums
Grand Hotel Budapest
Rushmore
.
.
.
Bottle Rocket
Darjeeling
Moonrise
Life Acquatic

Haven't seen Mr. Fox.

Awkward but gifted boy finds a powerful father figure. Or said gifted boy feels the lack of said powerful father figure. With lots of pastel and travellings.

Yup, didn't remember the title (kept coming back with Election, somehow). I liked it but not *that* much.

Well, having seen now Budapest and Tennenbaums, he definitely has a distinctive style but I would not call it "always making the same movie". He reminds me of Wachowskis, Tarantino or Terry Gilliam in that I could probably see his movie I know nothing about and guess he directed it.

Martinus

Also, from these lists, I guess I should see Rushmore but probably no need to bother with the rest. :P

I wouldn't say this is the theme of Tennenbaums at all, except in a broader sense, as it is a movie about growing up (or, being lampooned in the relationship between the doctor played by Bill Murray and his patient).

I'd recommend all the ones I've seen (Rushmore, Fox and Life Aquatic).

Ok! It helps his movies always have awesome cast.

I couldn't stand Life Aquatic, but Seu Jorge singing samba covers of David Bowie is awesome.
