I dunno, SHEILD seems like it is doing a slow build.  Anyone can shoot their wad in the first 3-4 episodes, then have nowhere to go story-wise.  Plenty of shows have followed that path.  We'll see.  It is right now the only TV show I'm following.

Just picked up a back end order of 9 episodes to give it 22 total for first season.

The evil genius's secret lair is supposedly on Malta.  So Malta gets mentioned a lot, but no on-scene camera shots from Valletta or anything.
