I agree on the drive quality, which is why I'm going with the RE4s (1.2m hour MTBF).  I'm wavering on the mirror, though.  As you say, it will slow the system down some, and I don't think it buys much with a regular off-system backup in place.

I've tried it, the message appears to be sent, but it never arrives at the recipient, is this fixable ? :unsure:
