I can get them in plenty of places when I'm in Atlantic City, and most of them taste edible to me, but my polite is very unsophisticated.
I'm kinda looking to Mihali, Carrot, or kat to weigh in on this one. :)

Where in South Jersey are you going to be?  I had what none other than Bruce Willis declared "the best cheesesteak on the planet" at the Roman Pantry in Penns Grove... it was pretty good.  If you're in the greater Camden County/Gloucester County area, there should be some decent places around, considering the sheer number of South Philly transplants.
"The internet's completely over. [...] The internet's like MTV. At one time MTV was hip and suddenly it became outdated. Anyway, all these computers and digital gadgets are no good. They just fill your head with numbers and that can't be good for you."

Stop picking on the foreigner.
From another thread...
QuoteOne of the many patterns I have noticed among people who labor to excuse huge evils is that they are incredibly sensitive about minor linguistic points. ... This tendency to strain at linguistic gnats and swallow moral camels is one of the warning signs I now look for when detecting the presence of evil.
The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.   -G'Kar

Brigantine, Atlantic City, Long Beach Island, Cape May, and probably Lewes as well.  We'll be in Cinnaminson for a day, but that will be for my cousin's wedding which will be catered (and unlikely to feature cheesesteaks  :( )

They're ok.  We got them once just out of sheer curiosity.  Usually when I go to White Castle, it's because I have THE CRAVE, which is satisfied by sliders only.  :)

What part of the chicken do they get the ring from?

Brazen

I burn more than 1600 calories on my long runs. Could really use a Baconator afterwards.

It is no doubt: mechanically separated meat. :mmm:

I had a Philly Cheesesteak at the place on South Street in Philadelphia that every travel guide suggests and I found it alright, but nothing to write home about.

Both Pat's and Geno's are good, but there are lots of other steak shops that are just as good, cheaper, and not nearly as crowded.  There is nothing magical or special about either one of those joints.

The unhealthiest fastfood I had was probably the Ruby Tuesday's "Colossal Burger":

But that was a damn good burger. :mmm:

Caliga

Ruby Tuesday puts way too much salt on their fries. :x  I stopped going there for that very reason.

 Honestly, last week, S and I were having a cheesesteak fit so we just got one from the cart at Logan Square, and it was damn nice.  $7 for a foot-long cheesesteak that kept us running from lunchtime 'til about 8.

Anyway, I'm not going to be much help on Atlantic/Cape May eating, Cal.  I tend to be working with the "snobbery" side of the palate whenever I'm down that way (meeting S' family at the casinos, heading for the ferry, that sort of thing) and don't usually get my comfort food down there. :(

How on earth do you folks eat a hamburger that huge? Do you take it apart into its components and eat each part seperately, take bites out of the side and risk the whole thing collapsing into a mess, or simply unhinge your jaws like an anaconda?  :P
