I realized that the foundry missions, while fun, don't give very good experience (and no special rewards at all) so I went back to do a regular mission (not a featured episode, just a Cpt 3 mission).

God - it sucks compared to the foundry stuff I'd done recently.  Just wave after wave of ground mobs, with little story to make it worthwhile.

So right now I'm wondering if I want to bother grinding out to max level, or stick with doing the more enjoyable foundry stuff.

Also, I finally used the  Constitution bidge pack.  I'm now flying a Galaxy class ship (TNG), wearing the WOK uniforms, with my interior done up like the 60s.  Doesn't make much sense, but DAMN that interior looks sweet.  What is best is it even sounds better - all the little tweets and chirps it should have.

Now Berkut is going to yell at me. :(

I seem to recall the devs saying early on that they were going to deliberately gimp XP from user generated content.  At one point, Stahl even said he didn't want it to give out any XP.  I love STO, and if I was able to afford it, I'd be playing now, but that smacks of a producer who knows the devs have put out and are still putting out subpar material.

Nah.  Apparently that has been a problem for UGC in other games - missions are set up to maximize XP grinding, with no storyline or plot whatsoever.

Haven't played any foundry missions yet. However, I agree that many of the "normal" missions (not talking about the series content they add) are pretty generic and repetitive. Compared to other MMOs there's also a notable lack of boss battles where you have to figure out just how you have to beat the big bad (actually, I think the WoW bosses were the most fun I had in an MMO in that regard).

I rolled a new Klingon yesterday. Their missions are even grindier than the normal ones - and because there are relatively few for them they're repeatable. On the othe rhand I spent 2 hours waiting in PvP queues before giving up.

I think the game would have benefitted from a bigger budget that would have given equal space to different factions. Currently, Starfleet is fleshed out pretty well, but the Klingons feel a bit like an afterthought, thrown in for the PvP people. It would be much more fun, not to mention add lasting appeal, if the Klingons were offering as much gameplay as the Federation. Maybe even add playable Cardassian and Romulan factions ...

It is a widely known complaint - the Klingons have very little content.

There's a reason my Klingon alt has never left Qo'nos.

Did one of the Breen quests again last night.  They seriously amped the rewards.

I'd like to get the Breen BOff on three toons, but since two of them have never done these quests (and thus would have to tun through 5 FEs x 2 characters) I'm not sure I can do it in a week.

You know what irks me? That there's no admiral's variant of the TNG/DS9/VOY uniforms.

Well, I reupped for a month to see if the game's worth occupying the amount of spare time I have over the summer.  Can anybody give me a rundown of what's popped up since January, besides the Foundry?

Since January?

Foundry and the Romulan FE.  Both of which you can waste many hours on.

Awesome.  Oh, and I'm loving the redesigns I've encountered so far- I'm loving the way they scrapped the stupid spacedock model and tweaked the interior just enough to make more sense.

Oh yeah - I forgot about the ESD redesign.

If you can hurry up and do (or re-do) the last mission in the Breen series and get your Breen BOff.

I was underwhelmed by the Breen BOFF. (I started the Breen story looong ago and finished it last weekend.) Can't customize his appearance, and his skills aren't too exciting, either. :(

I moved my RA lower from Advanced Escort to Assault Cruiser. Much more fun, though the models for the AC suck. Spent some time mixing/matching to get a decent looking ship.
