I'll have to wait for the second round to be vindicated.  Either way, the Canucks will be crushed.  Evil will always be punished.

The recent history of the NHL suggests that, in fact, evil is consistently rewarded.

The fact that Carolina & Tampa Bay have won cup in recent years is simply a recurring joke.

 hardly. Evil goes mostly unpunished, actually.
Not this time.  The Canucks are too stupid to escape justice.
I do not hate you, nor do I love you, but you are made out of atoms which I can use for something else.

Sad way to go for the Habs. Montreal shall burn tonight.
Being lazy is bad; unless you still get what you want, then it's called "patience".
Hubris must be punished. Severely.

Indeed.  Montreal should send hit squads to Toronto for cheapshotting Markov out of the playoffs.

It'll be interesting to see what the Canadiens come back with next year.

How much of their team goes into unrestricted free agency next year?

Steve Begin
Francis Bouillon
Patrice Brisebois
Mathieu Dandenault
Marc Denis
Saku Koivu
Mike Komisarek
Tom Kostopoulos
Alexei Kovalev
Robert Lang
Alex Tanguay

Which is to say:  Just about everyone.

Well, I'm sure some of those guys will get signed.  Still, Montreal needs to add some size and toughness.  I mean, Laraque is the toughest guy in the league, and a capable player, but he doesn't belong on a first or second line.  Watching Koivu and Kovalev streak around, and then Laraque slowing moving up and down the ice, it just doesn't fit.  Of course, if you take Laraque out, most teams have enough physicality to pound the Canadiens into dust.

Begin was traded to Dallas back before the deadline.

Mathieu Schneider

And like 12 guys in Hamilton.

I'd keep : Lang, Tanguay, Kovalev & Komisarek. Brisebois & Dandenault should be transformed into defensive coaches.

Kostopoulos will get resigned, the guy barely cost a mil.

Fuck Koivu.
