She never won a tournament. She wasn't #1 in singles, I think her best is #8.

Thing is she's probably 100 times more popular that Graf could have dream of.

But don't take me as a Tennis purist. I don't even like the sport.

Kournikova took a ton of talent and promise in tennis and used it as a stepping stone to underwear modeling and dating hockey players. I think a lot of the backlash she gets is because people are upset that the path she took actually got her more fame and fortune than many very good tennis players receive.
