Yeah, certainly there was no insanity among the left during the Bush years.

I really don't remember death threats against Congressmen while Moveon told its supporters to make sure intelligent debate couldn't happen.

Are you old enough to remember the Clinton administration? I think this is par for the course.

Yeah, certainly there was no insanity among the left during the Bush years.

Of course there wasn't any. That's why they made the perfectly sane choice to not elect him for a third term. Didn't you see all the peaceful protest rallies and signs proclaiming that America cannot afford to elect Bush again.

Moveon's supporters wouldn't know intelligent debate if it took a dump on their heads.

That's not "intelligent" debate, that is "German" debate...
I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

I watched that stupid Fahrenheit 9/11 film and not even Moore claimed Bush was behind 9/11.  He went off on this bizarre tangent that alleged Bush was protecting the Saudis that rather baffled me though...

QuoteDingell forum on health care reforms gets raucous
By PATRICIA ANSTETT AND KATHLEEN GRAY • FREE PRESS STAFF WRITERS • August 6, 2009

U.S. Rep. John Dingell was greeted with jeers and cheers today as he tried to explain why changing the nation's health care system — as he has advocated for more than a half-century in Congress — makes sense.

Dingell, 81, told a health care forum he sponsored in Romulus that the legislation won't pay for abortions, as some protesters said it would.

"There will be no payment of taxpayer funds for abortion," he said.

As Dingell tried to begin the forum, Mike Sola, of Milan, interrupted the congressman repeatedly as he pushed his son, Scott, in a wheelchair, to the podium. He said proposed changes wouldn't help Scott and called Dingell a fraud.

Even before the town hall began in Romulus, opponents of President Barack Obama's health plan engaged supporters.

"You may be dead in five years," Val Butsicaris, 60, of Taylor, shouted. "They may euthanize you."

She referred to concerns of government rationing of care for the elderly.

Mel Hoffer, 67, of Monroe, a retired Ford Motor Co. employee, said retired autoworkers have no guarantees.

"We may need something to fall back on," he said.

Earlier in Troy, about 200 people gathered outside the office of U.S. Rep. Gary Peters to let him know they don't like Obama's health care plan.

The organized protests that came to metro Detroit today followed others around the nation this week. In Petoskey on Wednesday, U.S. Rep. Bart Stupak, D-Menominee, faced shouts of "That's a lie" and "You've lost my vote" at a meeting with senior citizens.

Stupak is the bluest of the blue dogs; I'm surprised he'd shill for Obamacare.  Peters was swept into office on Obama's coat tails; I don't think he'll be long for office no matter what he does.  I feel bad for Dingell.  I've been on the wrong side of community town halls enough times to know that an 81 year old man shouldn't have to deal with that.
In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock
