QuoteThese candidates span a broad range of policy positions, but they're unified by rhetoric. They tap into voter frustration and direct the blame at billionaires, establishment politicians, Republicans or whichever group is convenient to demonize. Policywise, they tend to share an interest in wealth redistribution and universal health care.

The throughline: Your struggles are somebody's fault, and that somebody can be held accountable if you just put new leadership in charge.

I mean... yes?

Are those really the people the most convenient to demonize? Because it sure seems like demonizing the weakest seems far more convenient.

But it is not really the billoinaires themselves as individuals that are the problem. Their personal faults are not the issue. The system that produces individuals with that much unaccountable power and influence will inevitably become extremely corrupt. That is a problem.

If the depths of the depravaty of this political movement is a better healthcare system and an attempt to curbe not just this small number of people's enormous unaccountable power and influence but also provide resources to the large numbers of our citizens who are struggling with a means to advance themselves well...why the fear mongering?
Quote"This is a Russian warship. I propose you lay down arms and surrender to avoid bloodshed & unnecessary victims. Otherwise, you'll be bombed."

Zmiinyi defenders: "Russian warship, go fuck yourself."

QuoteAs democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

How well did it work out for the Tea Party?
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

You are all in on Adolf Oyster last week...  What are the depths of depravity we will reach?  Sorry, but "Trump but a leftist" is not a something I would want.

Extremely well. They're in power.
