Seems it would be easier with a local fence.
To sleep, perchance to dream. But in that sleep of death, what dreams may come?

Austrian Airlines is slowly recommencing its regularly schedule. AUA staff greeted the first travelers yesterday:

The above were on an early flight to Munich, most of them business travelers. Having been on 6:30 am business flights on Mondays, I can relate to their lack of enthusiasm. :P

Sucks to be those guys.

If they take a plane from Vienna to Munich they deserve no pity.

Considering the fastest train connection is 4 hours and the flight 1 hour, I don't blame them for taking the plane.

Whether all these trips are really necessary is a different question.

Add 1.5 hours travelling to Vienna airport and check-in time, more if rush hour.
Add 1 hour disembarking and travelling into Munich, more if rush hour.
Consider four hours of uninterrupted work time on the train.

Had to get bloods done at the GP. They've only been open for "normal" procedures for the last week.

They've adjusted their schedules so there's only one patient in at a time (no waiting room). You have to wear a mask and then walk to a hand santising stand, then put on plastic gloves and scan your temperature - then you can go for your appointment.

All kind of weird.

Dunno about Munich, but Vienna airport commute and security can be done in an hour, provided you have no check in luggage.

Is that still the case now though? I imagine with social distancing even at lower volumes airports are slower than normal.

It sure is at the moment, since there's only few flights at the moment. It might change once the volume creeps closer to normal levels.

If their final destination is Munich then true.
I've done Geneva to Zurich as part of connecting flights before though. Newcastle to Manchester also exists. Its dumb and horrible but cheaper and sometimes the only way.

AUA has pledged, as part of their Corona bailout, to stop their flights between Vienna and Salzburg and Innsbruck, respectively.

I have also read there's now a minimum price for plane tickets.

It's good to see preventing the plebs from flying will solve not only global warming but a pandemic as well.

Just saw that yesterday thousands crowded up in New York for a "Black Trans Lives Matter" protest. I appreciate the exponential plight those people must suffer under but surely it is irresponsible to keep gathering people up during a pandemic?
