Ugh, I misread the requirements. I need 64 counties! I have 63 now. Crushed my nephew and tore the heart out of Nubia. Will take the rest and his crown when the truce runs out in 1164.

Also, why can't you hybridize cultures that have the same heritage? That's a stupid restriction.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

Running some hands off games to try to ID which mod might cause crashes in irregular intervals (like 50-150 years in) and saw the Cumans subjugating Persia which afterwards totally fell apart (the Persian ruler, admittedly, was pretty weak).

At long last, I have succeeded! The Abyssinian Empire has risen and will soon stretch from the Horn of Africa to Alexandria.

Where do I find my Crown Authority? I click the crown button on the top right, but it doesn't show it.

The four tiers of crown authority are shown like the four crowns here:

To increase to the next level, just click on the crown and you should get the information whether you qualify or not (and what's missing).

IIRC the realm information shows up when you click on your primary title:

Nah...see when I go there, I get this:

Could it be related to your co-monarchy?

In an unrelated note: I think I need to reduce chance for conquerors a bit  (The Empire fell apart within two generations, but things were very messed up in terms of historicity afterwards :D )

Then again what else is an incestuous rakish sodomite eunuch supposed to do to spend their time? :P

According to the image you shared Ireland is already Feudal.

... the UI looks a little different from last time I played - not sure why crown authority isn't shown. Maybe try the little crown tab on the left?

If you're asking how to turn an individual county feudal it's a little button on the individual holding screen like this:

Syt

Ok, from what I gather, they moved Crown Authority to other tabs, it's now possible to change it from either of these two (laws and succession):

Also, you will have to check if you have researched Royal Prerogative for your culture to unlock High and Absolute Crown Authority:

I've been playing Hungary, 1066 start. Me and my vassals have conquered Wallachia. I put my daughter on the throne of Pommerania as a crusader queen. Playing with VIET for the first time, lot of nice events.

However, my dude is generous, and whenever I stress break some god awful expense pops up. I've really felt like a medieval king this play through, terribly bankrupt half the time.

@Tamas, OPB made a video for you:

I do agree with him. CK was one of the games that generally let you bounce back from setbacks - and yeah, every time they added something that might be negative for the player (like the diseases they added, or legitimacy) they later nerf it.

He raises the point of legacies being just something you buy with points - I think that having requirements for what you unlock would be a cool feature. Additionally, I think for stuff like that it would be neat to have a maintenance cost. Make maintaining legacy cost upkeep, and if you can't maintain it, you lose it. Maintenance for buildings would be a cool addition. Etc.

Thanks, yeah he is spot on I am afraid.

I have been having fun with the Dark Ages mod, but again it's forced to use quite brute tools to cut you back, out of scripting necessity, probably.

One thing I haven't tried yet and based on this video and it's comments I am not that keen to try anymore is administrstive realms.

BTW there is a mod that ties lifestyle unlocks to stat prereqs, I will look it up later.
