It's 4,455.39 miles for me.

And yet it's still not far enough.  The fuckers followed you here.
Don't remind me.  :(

I live 1471 miles according to Sav's tool.

I may be one of the few who can say that my hometown got better over the years I've been away. Des Moines is now regularly on the Top 10 lists for Best Places to Live/Raise a Family, etc. It was not all that when I was there.
Yesterday, upon the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there
He wasn't there again today
I wish, I wish he'd go away...

Hey, you're better off than Tamas.  There are assholes trying to send him back.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

I don't have a home town.

Your home unincorporated area. Your home rural postal code.

I live in my home town.

It has kept you so long you've begun to identify with it.
To sleep, perchance to dream. But in that sleep of death, what dreams may come?

OVERALL WINNER

Salisbury
Wiltshire

This cathedral city is divinely attractive, has a distinguished history and offers top-class schooling, but this year we're honouring its resurgent community spirit — and its glorious surrounds

22 Km. I live in a coastal town in Barcelona's metro area.

I'm kinda tied down to either the Barcelona or Madrid metro areas given my line of work. I know super-successful guys that live in the middle on the countryside and commute via AVE high speed train, or even fly to work, but I'm not at that level.

Threviel

34 km. From a small village north of the town to a small village south of the town.
