A pity that the Imperialism series stopped at just 2.

Yeah that was a great series.

Trump bought the rights, hear he's planning on doing a MMRWRPG version.

HoI 4? TW: Warhammer? Really?

Yeah that makes me wonder how they compile this list. HOI IV?

HoI after 2 is just awful.

No, the site says IV. Which is just odd. How is 4 better than 5?  (I've yet to play 6)

I think the sequels are counted as the entire series.  For instance, Civ II was the game in that series I got the most fun out of.  I've played 29.  That all the games aren't from the last five years.  Some call-backs to the 1990's are good.  I didn't play PC games in the 1980's so I don't know much about those.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Yeah that was a great series.

I really only enjoyed Imperialism II, despite various bugs.
More than the very good already Conquest of the New World, better than Colonization IMO (unless it's the modded new version).

I think I'd say II and IV are my favorites. Played a lot more of each one of them than I played out of V. VI is nice but as their blurb about Civ suggested, it still has a bit to go before its the best of the series.

I dunno.  Colonization (the original version) was very good.  I loved the idea of crating up horses and storing them for use in the war for Independence.

Imperialism II was good, but not that good.

Jagged Alliance 2 the number ten strategy game of all time?

Fuckin' A.  This game never got the praise it deserved.  I still play it today.

I liked Imperialism I better than II.

Colonization was far superior to Conquest of the  New World.

The biggest joke of the list is Panzer Corps, how a graphic improvement of the good ole Panzer General made it to 19 is beyond me.
Panzer General II, People's General are way ahead, despite being published in the '90s. Open General, Battle of Wesnoth for the Panzer General series, is so much better and no DLCs to buy.

I loved both of those games.  They were both in heavy rotation in my earlier computer days along with No Greater Glory and Kingmaker.  That being said, I think the Starcraft was the game that really broke my preference for consoles and turned it to pc.  If we're going for series as opposed to the seemingly random ones listed, I've spent at least a few hours with about 11 of the different games.  Some a lot more than that.  Hahaha
