It's hard to keep up with the craziness, but when asked about the measles outbreak, and the tragic death in Texas, the Secretary of Health (I think that is his title) said that measles outbreaks happen every year. :frusty:

Yep, it's part of RFK's new population management plan.  Clearly the reason we have devastating pandemics is because we've drifted too far away from traditional disease management.  Specifically, we have focused to hard on trying to prevent disease, rather than acknowledging disease's place in a healthy population.  Controlled outbreaks help keep the population from developing too much susceptibility, which is the root case of the increasingly severe pandemics.  We could have saved so many lives if we had abandoned the fools errand of trying to prevent and eradicate diseases sooner.

The propaganda always goes on about how much better "natural" immunity is. The immunity you get from...suffering through diseases. I will have my artificial immunity thank you very much.

Do your crazy hippy shit somewhere else you lunatics.

And um back in the old days when we all got the privilege of suffering through measles, getting that amazing natural immunity, we STILL had devastating pandemics. Dumbass.

It's been too long since we've had a *real* outbreak of something. Covid was bad, but the death toll, all told, wasn't that traumatic I guess. The precautions we took no doubt helped, but ironically the diminished damage leads people to think the risk was over blown. Because people are stupid.

It's like the raw milk idiots. People alive today didn't see their siblings die from contaminated milk. There's a reason we pasteurize.
Being lazy is bad; unless you still get what you want, then it's called "patience".
Hubris must be punished. Severely.

Trump's social media video garners pushback from Arabs and Muslims in U.S. and Gaza

Maybe not a crime against humanity, but it is certainly a crime against good taste.  It doesn't seem to have originated from a trump affiliated organization, but Trump retruthed it on his social media account.
In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock

Maybe Trump is closest to this character:

Destroying the pre-existing faiths and assumptions.
Elevating a new single religion (Art of the Deal)
Wrecking the bureaucracy and making the priesthood unemployed.
Withdrawing from the wider world.
Moving the nations capital (to Mar a largo) or Founding a new city (Gaza)
The love of bling/gold.
Being oddly depicted in state art or popular culture.
"We have it in our power to begin the world over again"
