AR is just what a shy Trump voter looks and sounds like when he isn't among his own.

You think that you separate these morons from each other for a few hours and put them on languish and they'd sound like me?
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

There's a fine line between salvation and drinking poison in the jungle.

I'm embarrassed. I've been making the mistake of associating with you. It won't happen again. :)

I want to think that, given how outnumbered they were, they were reeeeeallly wary of escalating the situation. The alternative is thinking that they're complicit.

Or someone in their chain of command was complicit.  They have to have an overall commander, and he has to take orders from someone.

AR is more likely to storm Manny Diaz's office to protest the Cheezit Bowl.

Zmiinyi defenders: "Russian warship, go fuck yourself."

I very much want to know who gave the order for the Capitol Police to play patty cake.

Yep.  Someone allowed this to happen, in site of knowing in advance that this was going to be attempted.  That whole "token resistance and then surrender" thing embarrassed the US in front of the world, and the head of the capital Police should be fired immediately, with prejudice, and whoever else made the decisions not to attempt to defend the Capital needs to go as well.

The Capital Police who took selfies with the thugs?  Get them gone without pension credits.  You can't publicly abet a crime and remain a cop.

Trump has been temp-banned from Twitter for 12 hours.

Fucking ninja. <_<

In different news, the two guys to the left of Buffalo Head dude in the pic below have been identified.

The bearded guy immediately to the left of Buffalo Head guy is apparently called Jason Tankersley (at the left in the picture below) and the one with the mask at the far left of the picture is the one in the middle from the pic bellow, and is called Matthew Heimbach. Both are well known neo nazis from the Philadelphia area.

Buffalo Head guy has been identified as Jake Angeli, from Arizona, where he's a well known QAnon activist.

This is probably a pipe dream, but now may also be a good time to introduce some minimum standards for becoming a cop.  If you're going to be entrusted with the task of shooting people, it's probably not too much to ask that some minimum standards across the US be applied.  Civil rights protections are not a county-level matter.  The cops may still be overwhelmingly fascist in their political leanings, but greater culture of professionalism tends to reduce the impact personal views have on job performance.

Huh.  So these people now thugs and rioters.  While the HK rioters who did almost the same thing a year ago were "activists".  Attempts to bring them to justice are against basic human rights.

DGuller

It's almost as if one needs to consider the context before judging some actions.  :hmm:

Can anyone with law enforcement experience comment on this: https://twitter.com/cevansavenger/status/1346920924310867968 ?  It seems like a pretty poor riot control tactic, but maybe I'm missing some nuance.

re: Pence apparently commanding the National Guard... I'm starting to wonder if Trump has actually been arrested and/or removed from office and there's been no announcement yet because nobody can figure out how to break the news given how off-the-wall fucking crazy such an event happening in this country actually is.

It's the Capital Police opening up the gates in the fences and inviting the rioters in.
