In today's GOP it's forbidden to express any level of discomfort.
They do it all the time. Loads and loads of Republican Reps and Senators have been "uncomfortable" with his racism, "disturbed" by his comments about women, "concerned" about his coddling of dictators. And, then, they've done nothing about it. They don't deserve credit (it reminds me of Labour MPs and Corbyn).

Hasn't that been more like they've said those things? I know that you know etc, but just saying...

So, is Roger Stone a credible source at this point or just part of the media circus?

QuoteRoger Stone to Donald Trump: bring in martial law if you lose election

Roger Stone, whose 40-month prison sentence for lying to Congress and witness tampering in the Russia investigation was commuted by Donald Trump, has said Trump should seize total power and jail prominent figures including Bill and Hillary Clinton and Mark Zuckerberg if he loses to Joe Biden in November.

The long-time Republican dirty trickster, who has a tattoo of Richard Nixon on his back, offered the startling advice on Thursday, in a call to conspiracy theorist Alex Jones's Infowars online show.
(...)
Citing widely debunked claims of fraud around early voting, absentee balloting and voting by mail, Stone told Jones Trump should consider invoking the Insurrection Act and arresting the Clintons, former Senate majority leader Harry Reid, Zuckerberg, Tim Cook of Apple and "anybody else who can be proven to be involved in illegal activity".

He also said: "The ballots in Nevada on election night should be seized by federal marshals and taken from the state. They are completely corrupted. No votes should be counted from the state of Nevada if that turns out to be the provable case. Send federal marshals to the Clark county board of elections, Mr President!"

I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Credible source of what?

Credible source for anything Trump related? Maybe it was not the right turn of words.  :hmm: Somebody who has to be listened to, on account of having more or less the pulse and/or the ear of the president?

Sounds like you meant influential.

I'd say at least somewhat.

Even bullshitters can play a role, such as planting the seeds into peoples' minds.  In Russia, it's Zhirinovksy's second job to launch trial balloons of outlandish ideas.

If Trump was floating trial balloons, he'll probably tell us shortly. He's the world's worst conspirator.

He has already proposed postponing the election and advised his supporters to commit election fraud.  We still have 2 months left - if he stays behind in the polls there will be more from him.

IIRC Ryan was aware that the band's viewpoint and lyrics were not consistent with his own views, he said he just liked the music.  Nothing wrong with that, it's like Jews listening to Wagner or R.Strauss or the St. Matthew's Passion

The lyrics of RATM aren't particularly subtle and I do wonder how can one do the whole "love the music, don't share the politics" when Zack de la Rocha is shouting said politics at you.
Well, I like RATM's Killing in the name of and I find myself on the opposite end of the spectrum.

I also don't dislike Wagner at all. :)

If that's the case, then he's an extremely superficial person.
People listen to music or watch movies made by pedophiles or criminals.  I don't see how it's worst.

Michael Shannon on whether he would play Trump in a movie:

I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

And how do you reconcile that, when their politics are so much in your face that it's being screamed at you, and radically opposite to your own positions?
