What does a TRUMP presidency look like?

The Minsky Moment

Barr-Trump's plan was to dump Craig Carpenito - a Chris Christie crony -- into SDNY.

Audrey Strauss is a former AUSA, luminary of the NYC WC/regulatory defense bar, and recently returned to US Attorneys office.  She is highly unlikely to be any more tractable to Trump then Berman was.  This is a climbdown by Barr to save to face.

He's a shameless cunt, what's to stop him from firing her next Friday?
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

The Minsky Moment

Well he couldn't summon up the balls to fire Berman, I don't think he'll suddenly find them next Friday.

One of the odd things about Trump is that he is so cowardly.  He does not seem to actually be able to fire people.  When ever they fire someone in the White House he is never the person to do it.  Half the time the person getting fired only finds out about it when they are in a different time zone.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

This is what happened tonight. I'm dead serious when I say this. The teens of America have struck a savage blow against @realDonaldTrump . All across America teens ordered tickets to this event. The fools on the campaign bragged about a million tickets. lol. @ProjectLincoln

Is that the Tulsa thing?

What happened to the hordes of K-pop pranksters?  Why only one boogaloo?

The pranksters didn't show because... you now... pranksters.  Pranksters pull pranks.

Can't answer on the boogaloo question, since I don't know that there really was only one.

"The media likes to say we have the most cases. But we do, by far, the most testing. If we did very little testing, we wouldn't have the most cases. So, in a way, by doing all of this testing, we make ourselves look bad." (May 6)

"We're going to have more cases because we do more testing. Otherwise, you don't know if you have a case." (May 6)

"We have the ultimate testing. We have the best tests in the world. And we gave more than anybody else. But... I have always said testing is somewhat overrated." (May 7)

"I feel about vaccines like I feel about tests. This is going to go away without a vaccine... Eventually, it's going to go away. The question is, will we need a vaccine? At some point, it's going to probably go away by itself." (May 8)

"If we stop testing right now, we'd have very few cases, if any." (June 15)

"I personally think testing is overrated, even though I created the greatest testing machine in history. I've created the greatest testing machine in history. And I think testing is overrated... In many ways, it makes us look bad." (June 18)

"You know, testing is a double-edged sword. We've tested now 25 million people. It's probably 20 million people more than anybody else... Here's the bad part. When you do testing to that extent... you're going to find more cases. So I said to my people, 'Slow the testing down, please.'" (June 20)

My mom went in to take the test. She paid $250 for it. She did this on Monday and still hasn't gotten the results back yet.

If it is that expensive (she had Medicare which doesn't cover it) and takes this long I think we should see a big fall in positives.

So, the testing to see if you have COVID is supposed to be fully covered by Medicare.

Where did she go?

The event was fist come first serve to actually get in. Nobody showed up. The "prank" was getting him to boast about a million people coming, then seeing 6000 instead.

grumbler

I don't think that anyone expected to fit one million people in a stadium that seats 16,000.  The prank was mostly to so overwhelm the registration system that people who sincerely wanted to go would be discouraged because a million other people had already signed up.  Getting the Trumpeters to boast about a million applictions might have been an objective as well, but it wouldn't have been meaningful if 16,000 people had actually shown up.
