This is so annoying. There are only a few months of football season a year.  That seems a lot more interesting than whether people are standing or kneeling or whatever while a song is playing.

Yeah we did this all last season. It had finally died down and we were just talking football. Hardly anybody was still kneeling for the anthem. But then the President decided to focus on this non-issue. Trump's 'leadership' in action.

Trump does have a kind of mad genius about him though.  Notice how everyone's talking about the flag, and not the fact that members of his administration used private emails for government business?

Or, you know, the disaster in the Caribbean. But fuck the lives of our citizens, let's talk about how NFL players are saluting flags.

That would require empathy which is something in short supply.

If you refused to exit the locker room you aren't having your players make a choice of whether to kneel or stand. So they don't really enter the fray as it were.

I will call this the "military" option...as I've seen plenty of fellow service-people on military bases over the years, hang out in entryways and foyers just before they play Retreat, so they don't have to stop and stand at attention/salute.  :P

Up until a few years ago, the norm was for the teams to stay in the locker rooms until after the anthem, except on special occasions and IIRC postseason games.

Roy Moore is gonna be the junior Senator from AL next year after Donald's man failed spectacularly.

Read a profile of Moore the other day. He's going to be President of the United States. Book it.

He is 70 years old. I mean I know we are electing them right out of assisted living these days but come on.

Yeah, it's quite remarkable.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.
