Apparently there were Russians at the base that was hit. Maybe you should've taken the under on September, Seedy.

Depends.  Maybe Trump's deposit to Putin's account had cleared first.

RT just said the Russians were warned and there were no casualties.

You can take that to the bank-- as long as it works against the President.

I love how you seek out alternative news sources.

Quote"My fellow Americans, on Tuesday, Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad launched a horrible chemical weapons attack on innocent civilians.

Using a deadly nerve agent, Assad choked out the lives of helpless men, women and children. It was a slow and brutal death for so many. Even beautiful babies were cruelly murdered in this very barbaric attack. No child of god should ever suffer such horror.

Tonight I ordered a targeted military strike on the airfield in Syria from where the chemical attack was launched. It is in this vital national security of the United States to prevent and deter the spread and use of deadly chemical weapons.

There can be no dispute that Syria used banned chemical weapons, violated its obligations under the Chemical Weapons Convention and ignored the urging of the UN Security Council. Years of previous attempts at changing Assad's behavior have all failed and failed very dramatically.

As a result, the refugee crisis continues to deepen and the region continues to destabilize, threatening the United States and its allies.

Tonight, I call on all civilized nations to join us in seeking to end the slaughter and bloodshed in Syria and also to end terrorism of all kinds and all types.

We ask for god's wisdom as we face the challenge of our very troubled world. We pray for the lives of the wounded and for the souls of those who have passed. And we hope that as long as America stands for justice, that peace and harmony will in the end prevail.
Goodnight and god bless America and the entire world. Thank you."

And, as it so happens, no child of god suffering such horror would be allowed to come to the US to escape it.  Bigly.

I can't hold the "beautiful babies" line against Trump. The picture of the Syrian father with his dead nine-month old twins were pretty heart-wrenching.

In any case, the risk of escalation and spiralling out of control may have been pretty small since perhaps even the Syrians knew the attack was coming:

QuoteSyrian military officials appeared to anticipate Thursday's night raid on Syria's Shayrat airbase, evacuating personnel and moving equipment ahead of the strike, according to an eyewitness to the strike.

... maybe Putin let Trump have his little show to appear tough, while ensuring that Assad's people didn't lose too much. If it's just a runway and some structures and $80+ million of Raytheon equipment that'll need replacement, that's maybe not such a big deal for a ratings boost for Trump?

That said, it'd be good to have more than a single line from ABC News on this.

It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

I can. As seeds says, exactly the same people he was demonising and tried to ban from entering US.

I'm disappointed that we are already at the firing some missiles to try and distract us from his narrative of failure.

This and the fact that his "speech" was quite possibly one of the most butchered teleprompter readings I've ever had the misfortune to hear.  There was zero emotion or connection to the words he was struggling to read coherently.

No, he only wants to ban the ugly babies. The ones with disproportionately large heads and rolls of fat everywhere. Usually bald too.

So boy wonder forgot to disclose all his meetings with Russians when applying for a security clearance. What's up with this administration and their Russian specific amnesia? :hmm:
