Not sure but you have to be Christian. Maybe Jewish if Bannon is not 100% incharge.
Well, Ivanka Trump has apparently been confirmed as Jewish by Israeli rabbinic authorities.  I doubt he'll deport his hot, voluptuous piece of ass daughter that he'd date if she wasn't his daughter.

Is Trudeau that bad? Honest question, Canada is very low on my "countries whose politics I follow" list.

He's not Trudeau bad by any stretch.  And he is popular (though his popularity is declining), and would easily win re-election if an election was held tomorrow (of course the fact neither opposition party has a leader is part of the reason).

He's just kind of... feckless.  Tries to be all things to all people, without having a lot of deep convictions of his own.  Same way he tries to simultaneously support Alberta's oil industry, while telling an environmentalist it needs to be "phased out".  He wants Canada to return to UN peacekeeping despite the fact there's not really any peace out there that needs Canadian troops to keep.  There was that bizarro praise of Fidel Castro on his death that seemed to put Justin firmly in his father's footsteps.

While Van Buren was President, Lower Canada didn't have a LG.

Still better than Van Buren and Santa Anna.

Is Trudeau that bad? Honest question, Canada is very low on my "countries whose politics I follow" list.
His fortune comes mostly from his father.  His father bought some cheap lands on what was then government land and put it in a non taxable trust fund, so he's got a net worth of many millions of dollars without having ever actually done nothing.

He set up a fund in the name of his father for dubious reasons and collects payments from rich foreigners ever since he became the Liberal Party head.  It's impossible to know if there has been widespread illegal financing of his party through his foundation as he has refused any call to transparency and the Government of Canada is not about to investigate its own Prime Minister.  While the previous government pushed for more transparency from such foundations and stricter regulations on what a charity can do or be, he has reversed all these regulations.

He is a total moron, unable to answer a question he isn't prepared to.  Whenever he's caught off guard by a question asked by the public, he dodges it by answering about something else totally, or backing off slowly until he's out of reach.

His economic policy to spend to solve the then non existent economic problems was welcomed by many, including Grey Fox, but so far, all he has done is to make his life and the life of his donators&friends more comfortable.  Canada will rake a huge deficit, which will limit our capacity to intervene, should the need arise, during an hostile Presidency in the US, or any other kind of crisis.

While the previous government was committed to do its part for the war in Syria, the first move of this administration was to pull all our airplanes from there, and despite the official discourse of our allies that all was fine, we were actually excluded from any policy-making meetings thereafter.

In a repeat of Jean Chrétien's move in 1993, he cancelled the contract to buy new airplanes to renew our current CF-18 fleet.  He promised a fair, open and transparent bidding process, but he then ordered to secrecy anyone working on the project and proceeded to buy, without any public process, F/A-18E without any kind of analysis.

He has stated on multiple occasions that he is against bilinguism in this country, he does not believe French and English should have seperate schools, and that means assimilation for the French speaking population.  Most of his cabinet ministers are unilingual, French or English, unlike the Harper government.  He does not recognizes Quebec as a nation, never has, never will.
We're all Canadians under Allah.

He's friendly to muslim extremists, never hesistates to mix politics and religion, going so far as to attend service in segregated mosques and ordering his female ministers to wear a veil.

His party has been slammed previously for illegal financing, they're not back in power with similar tricks, the same collectors, many of the same ministers and advisors who were previously there.

He has merchandized access to the Prime Minister and influent cabinet ministers in exchange for generous donations (1000$ & up), despite his previous claims and he has so far refused to admit it was a "mistake", trying instead to justify his policies.

Contrary to the previous government he believes in a strong central government and wants to dictate how the provinces should govern themselves.  So far his strategy of divide&conquer his working.

He believes French are tribalists and just like his dad, inferior to the Master race (the Anglo Saxons).

He claims to promote diversity in Canada, but so far, only at the expense of any kind of French identity in this country.

He promised to create an inquiry board on the disapearance&murder of native women, and like all inquiry board, it will be shelved once completed.  So far, none of his promises on new relations with indian tribes have been respected.

Where they particularly incompetent Lieutenant Governors?
They were named for their political connections ;)

Nothing really bad if you're a loyal subject of his/her majesty.  Anglo power, assimilation of the French population, deportation of indians, forced cultural assimilation, that kind of basic stuff most empires do.

Lots of what is now canadian territory belonged to the Hudson Bay Company, a private corporation operating under their own laws.  What happenned in HBC controlled territory wasn't really taught in school when I attended my history classes and the Wikipedia articles aren't pretty thorough, so Oex would know better than me.

It was mostly unpopulated by white settlers, which was the way the company liked it.

I think the only settlement was the Red River settlement (which eventually became Manitoba), which the company treated with a kind of benign neglect.
