Still hard to fathom that this thing is our president.  It's just unreal.

While addressing the CIA on Saturday, President Donald Trump took a break from lambasting the media to remind everyone that he thinks the U.S. should have stolen Iraq's oil. He also suggested that the U.S. might get another chance to violate international law.

"Now I said it for economic reasons," Trump said while introducing Representative Mike Pompeo, his pick to lead the agency. "But if you think about it, Mike, if we kept the oil, you probably wouldn't have ISIS because that's where they made their money in the first place, so we should have kept the oil. But, okay, maybe we'll have another chance."

Maybe Bill Maher was right on Friday night:  Donald J. Trump is the 45th and last President of the United States.

Look on the bright side, perhaps he'll not cause global thermonuclear war after all, but merely the break up of the USA and so be its last president.    :P

It is only slightly less than four years now, instead of four full years.

Of course, that's assuming that he gets voted out next time

I hope all the people involved in impeachment discussions are keeping detailed notes.  I want to read about it when it's over.

My speculation is everyone who matters agrees in theory but prudent people are worried about violent reactions from Trump supporters.

I dipped my toe into the alt right Twitter and they are talking about retaliation for the "punch a nazi" stuff.

Shit might just get real. Or they may just jerk off in their parent's basement.

The whole "take their oil" thing makes me seriously question his basic comprehension of reality.  I am not a geologist, so I could be wrong here, but oil fields don't seem like something you can just pick up and carry away.  I hope there is someone in the White House who is there to tell him that confiscating natural phenomenon isn't physically possible.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

He was just bullshitting.  Obviously if you're prez you don't do that in public

He's said it multiple times including during a debate.  I honestly don't think he knows how oil fields work which is a glaring omission for a person in the real-estate business

Well, he did.  On television.  At CIA headquarters.  As President of the United States.  And reinforced by the Press Secretary.   And now the CEO of ExxonMobil is going to become the US Secretary of State.

As if they're not paranoid over there enough as it is about the US and its intentions, and US troops don't have enough to worry about when it comes to green-on-blue violence.  But hey, he was just bullshitting.  At the CIA memorial wall.  Some Commander-In-Chief.
