if trump lays off the NAFTA stuff and continues his pro-corp approach, while keeping his protectionism to claiming victory for things he didn't do, and he manages to somehow help out the working class, then trump might end up doing pretty well

I mean, the progressives might get sacrificed on the altar of a wealthier america, but there you go ya know it happens gl niggas

You need to think what the other end of the pro-corp slider looks like.  If he lowers corporate tax he's going to raise the deficit.  If he "eases regulations" then we get things like more pollution.

There is no free lunch.

Are you talking about your personal life

Seriously?

Quoteor about Trump giving away negotiations leverage for no apparent reason?

If it's Trump and he is on the ball then the expectation is that it will be reciprocated somewhere. If it's through ignorance, then you just take advantage I'd think...

I'm talking about handing the future of the global economy to the RCEP.

But hey, Happy New Year to the commie pinko student-killing ratfuck bastards.  Enjoy the economic hegemony.

You didn't think he'd make it?  Or that it was even that close?

If there are 10 dems on committee it's not that interesting.

She got fat.

She did inflate a bit, didn't she.

I'd still give her the top off my egg.

Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership - a free trade pact between ASEAN, India, China, Japan and Australia

It covers like 40% of trade in the world. If the US is no longer interested in making the rules, others will take over.

40% of world trade is conducted between those countries you mentioned?

That doesn't sound right.

Zanza

Hmm, maybe not. But they probably have about 40% of the world's population between them.

LaCroix

40% world trade figure is reported here: http://thediplomat.com/2013/07/regional-comprehensive-economic-partnership-rcep-issues-and-way-forward/

a random google blurb said some international trade centre reports it as 36%

Admiral Yi

Yeah, they're saying those countries conduct 40% of world trade with the whole world, not with each other.
