I would do that in every meeting just to make sure the real people in the room aren't outnumbered by the lobbyists.

Except that in his case the "real people" are other real estate magnates (LeFrak and others), private equity titans (Poulsen), greenmailers (Icahn), vulture investors (Ross) etc.  This isn't like the Charles Grodin character in "Dave."  These are guys with big interests of their own, who lobby in their own right.

Trump has always had a need to surround himself with, and subsequently impress, the wealthiest of the wealthy.  To prove not just to them, but to himself, that he belongs.  Been that way since the 80s.

His handlers should take that idiots phone away.

Would be hilarious if Twitter banned a sitting pres though.

personally, I think trump more wants to do a good job as president than to line his pockets. plus, he probably knows that if he does well, his presidential success will lead to greater rewards for his dynasty down the line.

I'm sure he believes he can do both. I see no reason why we should humor that belief.

I'd rather that he be a good President except for lining his own pockets than be a bad President and line his pockets.  Granted, I think the chance he'll be a good President are slim.

Donald Trump will remain EP on 'Celebrity Apprentice'

QuoteDonald Trump will remain as an executive producer on NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice," even while serving as president of the United States.
That agreement, first reported by Variety and confirmed by sources at NBC and the Trump campaign, means the president will have an interest in a show aired by a media company that also reports on his presidency -- a major conflict of interest for the network.

"The Apprentice," which Trump hosted for 14 seasons, was created by Mark Burnett and is owned and produced by MGM. The 15th season, hosted by former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, will air on NBC starting January 2.

NBC Entertainment, NBC News and MGM all did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding the decision to keep Trump as an executive producer.
It is unclear how much Trump will be paid per episode.

Hope Hicks, a Trump spokesperson, told CNNMoney: "Mr. Trump has a big stake in the show and conceived of it with Mark Burnett."

Burnett, who had distanced himself from Trump in October by criticizing "the hatred, division and misogyny" of his campaign, met with the president-elect this week and, according to The New York Times, may be planning to produce his inauguration.

According to Variety, Trump's name will air after Burnett's during the credit sequence and before Schwarzenegger, who is also an executive producer.

Trump last hosted "Celebrity Apprentice" in February 2015, before running for president. In July 2015, NBC announced that it would cut all business ties with Trump due to his remarks about Mexican immigrants being criminals and rapists.

Trump's ties to NBC further became an issue after The Washington Post published a tape from "Access Hollywood" in which Trump bragged about groping women.

CNN seems to imply now that Trump will not be paid for his role as Executive Producer; with the sub line:

QuoteCorrection: The original version of this story incorrectly reported that NBC would be paying Trump for his role as executive producer.

Even so, what a train wreck.
In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock

Sure, she's my favorite character.  Maybe Ivanka will turn out to be the Mother of Dragons. :P

I got no beef with Ivanka. Well maybe an excessive amount of familial piety. When your family member is a dog, you call that shit out.

She may wind up being the one with any sense in that place

I haven't seen any reason to believe she has any integrity or sense of responsibility to anyone but herself though.

I think at this point, we're just looking for people that aren't going to let him detonate a nuclear device in the Middle East in retaliation to the first Trump building that collapses from a suicide van full of explosives.

"Integrity or sense of responsibility to anyone but herself" is just going to have to take a backseat for a bit.

The idea of people attacking his properties and how he will respond really bothers me.  Would be a shame if American soldiers died fighting to retake Trump Tower, Indonesia.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

The man goes batshit ballistic and starts hate-tweeting anybody who criticizes him.  Just think what's going to happen when he sees his gilded, garish name in a smoking pile of rubble.

Can't wait to see Hansy's PowerPoint presentation for Operation Infinite Winning.

Well, on the bright side the "is Nazism a right wing or left wing phenomenon" is finally settled, what with Steve Bannon in the White House.

Just read that a fastfood CEO and strict opponent of higher minimum wages will be labor secretary. You are truly living in an unfettered plutocracy now.

At least minimum wage is a state matter. Four states proposed raising it this year, and it passed in all four, including Arizona.

Climate change denier running the EPA, an anti-union billionaire running Labor... Seems to me that this administration will be a case of the foxes taking care of the hens. Can't wait until he nominates El Chapo for the DEA or Siege as ambassador to Saudi Arabia.

The best part will be seeing Giuliani and Christie defending the El Chapo pick.  :D
