Because if I got any answer at all it would be gobbledygook.  But I think he is a useful data point.

I recall they had done those interviews at some point in the campaign when various supporters said they didn't really expect him to build a wall, carry out mass deportations or ban Muslims entry to the country - but they were still going to vote for him.
