Who is the left-wing equivalent to Charlie Kirk?  Somebody who is a completely dishonest propagandist, but who manages to avoid going too far over the line to the point where he can't go out in public anymore?  It seems to me that a lot of left-wing equivalents get tripped up on the whole Israel thing and end up falling out of the conversation due to their antisemitism. 

Years ago, I would have said maybe the Young Turks, but they've pretty much given up on the Democrats it seems. 

Even they were always weird. Created by a born again liberal who was heavy into conservatism and a Armenian genocide denialist on top of that.

All the better reason to talk to the Young Turks. Bring Cenk on, win him back. Or at least get his audience to come back. Much more productive than Charlie Kirk. I would be praising Gavin Newsome out the ass if he made that effort.

And if you decide David Pakman, Brian Tyler Cohen, Hasan, Kyle Kulinski, the Medias Touch guys, Sam Seder, and all the other leftwing podcasts are unacceptable because they are antisemitic...well fucking Steve Bannon is an antisemite and Gavin Newsome will talk to him.

Hell I would love to see a serious good faith debate about assisting Israel. I don't understand why we are doing it and what the point is. I just see tons of dead civilians and bombed out houses and destroyed infrastructure and I am not really interested in being involved in that. If this was 2005 and we could go in and really do some good in Gaza, help the Palestinians disarm their militants and establish security and build an economy and establish a political order that could help create a Palestinian state that could establish peace I would be all for it.

But instead it sort of feels like if our actions in Bosnia and Kosovo in the 1990s just led to decades of endless conflict between the Serbians and their neighbors that we just had to keep participating in. Those instances were dirty deeds but at least they were over soon and seemed to lead to something productive. This just seems like an endless slog on behalf of an ethnic struggle. And I don't want to be involved. We can come back when somebody is serious about peace.

But hey I might only feel that way because I actually a raging antisemite unbeknown to me. Seeing pro-Israel Democrats having a real discussion with pro-Palestinian Democrats might give me something to think about. Instead it's just "STAND BY ISRAEL" "FREE PALESTINE". Ok...but why though?

But I get it. Maybe that is too hot of a topic to discuss and maybe that is too divisive. Fine. Plenty of other issues to talk about that would help unite the party.

Yeah but people listen to them. People who are likely to vote Democratic. So talk to them.

Even just to debate them. Make sure Hasan's audience sees that Hasan is an unreasonable dick and they should instead listen to Gavin Newsome's podcast.

Cenk always had this delusion he was going to establish some kind of media empire. He went a little too aggressively I think. It's hard to do that level of production and hire that many people just for an internet show unless you have some real money behind you and that is hard to secure as a leftwing show.

Ana just has weird priorities. I never understood where she was coming from. I recall during the 2020 election when Joe Rogan came out for Bernie Sanders, who she and her network were supporting, she decided to attack Rogan for being problematic. Like...WTF? Aren't you trying to get this guy elected? Maybe acknowledge he is not your kind of people but you should have been celebrating getting such a major endorsement for your dude. And then yes flipping out over the fake "birthing person" thing. And the anti-immigrant stuff. And the anti-homeless person stuff. I mean, what you would you say you stand for anyway?
