The world is going to be a much more dangerous place.
I mean, never mind our domestic concerns--race, gender, anti-intellectualism, apathy--that's our own mess.  We'll deal with that.
But for you, out in the wild?  The nations that rely on the international order based on collective security?  Democratic peace theory?

Too fucking prophetic. Damn you CdM

It kills me that we see DOJ vigilantes humiliating themselves like this, and the press seems to largely ignore it.  Same for the unprecedented wave of US Attorneys and the Public Integrity Office resigning or being fired for refusing to carry out an unlawful action that risked their bar licenses.

The Trump administration hiring incompetent hacks to weaponize the FBI and DOJ (exactly, it is impossible to miss, what they falsely accused the Biden administration of doing) will cost them some significant cases. But there are enough corrupt judges out there that even administration legal incompetence will not prevent the destruction of constitutional government.  The Trump administration can and will simply ignore the rulings that go against them and enforce the ones that go in their favor.
The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.   -G'Kar

Wait until you read about the US Postal Service in the AM.  I was right about that one, too.  But no, all you chuckleheads gave me shit about it for years.  Wha..? They can't possibly want to get rid of it to privatize it!  You so wrong, me right, LOL!

Assclowns.

Looks like Trump may end up doing to the international financial system more less the same as he's doing to NATO: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/mar-lago-accord-chatter-getting-220205293.html

Since I was a wee lad I've heard leftists call the US fascists. Ive always defended the US in those kind of discussions with well (in my mind) thought out arguments of the differences between the political systems and that they are not fascists.

Now that the fuckers have gone all-in on actual fascism I can't use that argument due to it being watered down by wolf-cryers for decades.

So now I'm pissed at yanks in addition to leftists, not one of those fuckers can do anything right it seems.

QuoteTrump says he's going to Fort Knox to inspect gold reserves

President Trump said Thursday he intends to make a trip to Fort Knox in Kentucky to inspect the nation's gold reserves amid a push from Elon Musk and some Republicans to conduct a review the facility.

"I'm actually going on this one. All my life I've heard about Fort Knox. That's where the gold is kept," Trump told Republican governors at a reception in Washington.

"We're getting a little bit shaky. We're getting the yips on this stuff. Like I want to find out," Trump said. "We're going to open up the doors. I'm going to see if we have gold there. Did anybody steal the gold in Fort Knox?"

Musk, with the encouragement of Republicans like Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), has pushed for a review of Fort Knox and spread unfounded claims that gold reserves are missing from the facility.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in a recent interview that there is an annual audit of Fort Knox and that "all the gold is present and accounted for."

Fort Knox has stored the country's gold reserves for decades. It also hosts the Army's largest yearly training event each summer, according to The Associated Press.

There is currently 147.3 million ounces of gold at Fort Knox, according to the U.S. Mint, which is roughly half of the Treasury Department's gold.

What a little kid. Maybe they can actually transport the gold elsewhere for his visit and he can be distracted on a scavenger hunt/detective mystery.

At this point it's half power trip, half dementia, right?

To be fair I wouldn't mind a tour of Fort Knox myself. I suppose it will keep him distracted for a few hours and stop him making another stupid decision in that time period.

I still think he watched looney tunes, got confused, and now is trying to stop Bugs and Yosemite Sam from robbing Fort Knox.

He's going to try and put the US back on the gold standard, isn't he?
I do not hate you, nor do I love you, but you are made out of atoms which I can use for something else.
