Congress will be overthrown long before a vote goes to the House floor.

Buckle up, buttercups.

Quoted to provide evidence you can't erase that you had foreknowledge of the coup that will be launched at 7am this morning.

On the risk to Reps and Senators I found this footage of people confronting a California Rep in Dulles:

It reminds me of the murder of Jo Cox. A friend of mine's dad was an MP for about 20 years and he remembers growing up that people would come up and confront his dad on a fairly regular basis just on the street of their town, and sometimes they'd have something nice to say too. But basically it brought home how vulnerable these people are on a day-to-day basis and that's a good thing about our society.

But scenes like that feel like the sort of thing that's going to create a shift.

Edit: And, incidentally, he is far braver than me in dealing with that type of confrontation

Are we going to get the USS CVN Donald J Trump?

Or a Donald J Trump airport, military base, whatever?

Yes, name a spaceship after him and aim it at the Sun.

I guess there's no USS Nixon for a reason.

The Larch

I think they actually introduced a bill yesterday to ban naming anything public with his name.

Lots of military bases are named after Confederate generals who fought against the federal government.  If traitors who actually fought against the federal government on the field of battle can have bases named after them, I see no reason why there can't be a USS Nixon.

The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

Two more GOP members of Congress have stated that they'll vote for impeachment, Fred Upton from Michigan (Kate Upton's uncle) and Jaime Herrera Beutler from Washington.

I would say on a Federal level nothing is ever going to be named after Trump.

But out in the "red states" who knows what his fans might put his name on?  What schools, roads, libraries etc. might get his name on them?
Posts here are my own private opinions.  I do not speak for my employer.

His name would be perfect on Lyeberries.
I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.
