Parler (like most social media) can be used via web browser, so it's not like it's completely gone. Unless browser companies start blocking access to it or something.
Agreed - but not being on phones is pretty lethal for a social media company given how people typically use/consume social media. I think about 80% of social media use is on mobile.

Unrelated but the CNN video of the crush of the police officer is horrific :(

Admittedly she's not exactly a looker, but horrific might be too much.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

The crowd shouting "Hang Mike Pence" while trying to storm the Capitol is also chilling.

Twitter thinking they can censure a major world leader is pretty short sided. That is going to end very badly for them. I understand trying to protect yourself from liability but Twitter is a platform, not a publisher. They already have legal cover.
There are Twitter accounts of much worse foreign politicians that are not banned, so I don't see Twitter applying any kind of consistent policy here. On the other hand, Twitter employees are personally affected as American citizens, so acting different here is at least understandable.

I suspect the accounts of those who are worse do not have anywhere near the penetration or visibility of the POTUS.

I'm also surprised Trump hasn't dialed into any of his preferred TV shows yet.

I expect he is not confident that he will get the kind of treatment he prefers. What if they ask him tough questions or hold him to account?

The issue is not how "bad" the person is but whether they are using the service to plot criminal activity or incite violence.

I.e Putin is as bad as Trump but his twitter feed has "normal" things like Chiristmas greetings and reports of boring meetings.

With Twitter moving to remove QAnon accounts, the likes of Brian Kilmeade and Kevin Sorbo are shocked to see their follower counts drop by 10s of thousands.  :(

Play Store/Apple Store are a convenient way to install softwares on your phone.  However, you can easily point to a link in a browser that downloads a package for the app you want and have it installed, albeit with a few tweaks to enable 3rd party packs to be installed on your phone.  But there are many sites offering such information with their software, so I don't see a problem with Parler, or any other platform that wants to be on a phone.  I think you can install Tor on your phone too, and bypass censorship.  Might be for the more tech inclined, but it just shows there are ways to circumvent the store's bans.
