What does a TRUMP presidency look like?

It's not. Trump loves autocrats and above all autocrats who can both flatter him and offer him cheap political points for domestic consumption. Once that narrative of "Trump was Presidential in North Korea" stops sticking over at Fox News, he'll turn to something else. Iranian theocracy cannot offer him that, and Maduro is perhaps too compromised (and therefore appears weak, and thus worthy of Trump's contempt).

People who support Trump disdain even the tiniest hint of possible government intervention in the economy here but praise Donald when he says nice things to a leader of a country founded on Communist ideas and who throws dissenters into actual gulags.

Very fine people.

Very fine people.

And who we have actively deployed our military to contain as part of what is one of our biggest commitments.
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

The Minsky Moment

By openly promoting in regime change in Venezuela while engaging in the most obsequious flattery to Kim, the US is sending a very clear message that nuclear proliferation works.
The purpose of studying economics is not to acquire a set of ready-made answers to economic questions, but to learn how to avoid being deceived by economists.

North Korea, under the leadership of Kim Jong Un, will become a great Economic Powerhouse. He may surprise some but he won't surprise me, because I have gotten to know him & fully understand how capable he is. North Korea will become a different kind of Rocket - an Economic one!

I mean...why not? Iran and Venezuela are bad. North Korea is good. Why? I have no idea. It all seems to random.

Silly you.  Didn't you know Communism creates economic rockets.

Trump's sacrifices are hard

QuoteThe president appears to be stung by a leak of three months of schedules showing he spent about 60 percent of his workday in "Executive Time" — watching TV, tweeting, gabbing and the like. When last week's schedule was leaked to Axios, it showed Trump had cut back Executive Time — to
50 percent!

This sacrifice was hard. You think it's easy working 11 to 5?

I would have been perfect for that job!  I know!  11 to 5?  Heck, with all expenses paid and some shady deals on the side, I might even had considered doing it for free.

If only my great-great gandparents hadn't left Florida, I might have had a great shot at getting the ultimate job.  Or died in some high school/bar/club/university/street/mall shooting.

Well, I wouldn't mind if George Washington spent 80% of his time on leisure.  He would still be one of the greatest presidents of all time.

But Washington had a bunch of slaves to do his work for him.

And you don't think Trump feels Americans are slaves to his ego?

Yeah Donald justified Putin's policies by saying that everybody basically does the same stuff during the 2016 campaign (and made Bill O'Reilly's head explode). People seemed cool with it.

She wishes the US was as bad as SA.
that seems to be the vision on your side now.  The US is just as bad as Putin's Russia or Saudi Arabia.  Next thing, you know, the Nazis weren't all bad, and the Americans did kill a lot of people during WWII, you know...

The Japanese already apparently think that the US was worse than the Nazis during WWII.

Trump to sign border security bill and declare emergency over wall
14 February 2019

US President Donald Trump will declare a national emergency to fund his planned border wall with Mexico, the White House says.

He is to sign a border security bill to avert a government shutdown - but also act to bypass Congress and use military funds for the wall, a statement said.

Senior Democrats have responded by accusing him of committing a "gross abuse of power" and a "lawless act".

Congress must first pass the bill before it is signed by the president.
