Lone wolf attacks are terrorist attacks.
307 terror attack this year in your country?  In Vegas, what was the message, "country fans are devil's spawns" ?

Good enough.  Though you could narrow it down ones with a political motivation.  In the case of the Quebec shooter that motive would be... Quebecois nationalism and Islamaphobia.  Is that why you don't consider it terrorism?
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Quebecois nationalism and Islamaphobia.
he was fighting for the right to speak French?
I never read that before.  How strange.

Islamophobia was definately part of it though.

Given that he was listening to your radio&tv shows, I don't feel quite concerned by some trend here.  The case that he was radicalized here has even been dismissed in court.

QuoteThe political leanings of suspected mosque shooter Alexandre Bissonnette
Bissonnette's Facebook page suggested he was a fan of U.S. President Donald Trump, a far-right leader in France and the separatist Parti Quebecois

Because Facebook is a great tool to determine the psychological profile and political affiliation of someone?

hmm
Quote« Il agissait comme un troll, a dit M. Deschamps. Ils'attaquait aussi aux droits des femmes. » Il aurait qualifié des groupes féministes de « féminazis ».

"He acted as a troll, said M. Deschamps.  He also attacked women's rights.  he qualified feminist groups as "feminazis".

That's pretty far from the PQ agenda.

Still, that particular political motive, or any kind of localized radicalisation has been tossed aside by the court as there is no evidence of it.  But I'm not surprised English Canada's media would make a fuss about a dude liking a PQ page.  They really don't talk about the dude in a bathrobe trying to shoot the PQ leader and his affiliation to Quebec Anglo support group and the Liberal Party, though.  Not that I'm surprised.

Trump ponders creating a new government-run news channel to compete with CNN.

Do you think he even knows the US already has the Voice of America? :hmm:

I would never assume Trump knows anything.

Didn't he set up a Trump Channel?  Maybe a Youtube thing?  I remember some talk about that.

We also have PBS, which is closer to the mark Beeb.  Though obviously neither of those are what Trump has in mind.

There was talk close to the election that since even Trump assumed he was going to lose, he might want to set up his own cable news channel or something.

I know there's PBS, but he specifically talked about "around the world" which made me think of VOA.

Imagine though - a Republican asking for increased dollars for public broadcasting.

It is fairly useful.
