It has been my impression that Labour negative feelings (right or wrong) are really tied to personalities. It's as if all that's been sub-par regarding the UK (from their point of view) only happened because Churchill, Thatcher, and now Blair.

It is quite crazy.
I've seen this a lot from the left in recent times, even before the independent group stuff. Screaming about liberals being the devil. Over and above the conservatives even. Liberal to them meaning centrists.
Meanwhile you have the far right also screaming about liberals being the devil. Though for completely the opposite reasons.
Liberal seems to just mean 'someone I don't like'.

Another annoying thing about this independent group stuff is the amount of people demanding a bi-election as they were elected as labour MPs thus are breaking some law or other. It's amazing how pretty much nobody seems to know how the British electoral system actually works. We really should take parties off the ballot again.

Meaningful vote delayed until the 12th of March. Which while totally expected, still makes a mockery of the whole thing.

Meanwhile the EU is reported to be working on plans to extend the Brexit date into 2021. Logic being that if the Brits request an extension there's no point in giving another cliff-edge moment a few months down the line.

That would be a solution akin to May's deal (except freedom of movement would stay until 2021 instead of 2020), and would be a pretty good idea and a nice concede from the EU (the ticking clock benefits them not the UK), IF one could have any reasonable hope of those extra two years spent by the British political class to negotiate a final settlement, instead of kicking the can down the road.

The bright side is his failure to respond to the Brexit crisis is the definitive proof he's unfit for a job that requires leadership, like being the PM.

Blair was the most successful Labour Party politican in history and under his government Britain was prosperous and well respected.  Yes he got too close to Bush on foreign policy but the way the leadership of his party treats him like a leper is symptomatic of their political failures.
