According to job title and remuneration, yes.  I didn't seek admission to the bar, but so what?

So what?  That's precisely the distinction between being a lawyer or not.

They told him it wouldn't make a difference in pay, and he believed them!
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

That is interesting.  In Canada a person cannot hold the title of being a lawyer unless they are called to the Bar.

Yes, because even when we make different choices, life always turns out the same. Thanks, g.

Ah so you became the "lawyer" from Breaking Bad.

Assuming you're talking about Saul Goodman, he was still very much a lawyer.

Was the character name a nod to Oscar Goodman?

It's a play on "It's all good man".

With a side of "people prefer Jew lawyers" (characters real name is Jimmy McGill).

Can't wait for the second season.

to be fair to ide, the legal market really can be tricky. even in the land of flax seed and honey, a friend with very high credentials has gotten no-offered at every turn. lots of classmates don't have offers, and graduation is right down the corner.

Yeah, I know how much other people in my office make.  It's all about this little thing you didn't learn called "socialization."

No.

Anyway, I suppose Beeb has a lame but valid semantic point.  Surely, no one will ever wonder if he's a lawyer.
