It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

I don't use all caps or believe in the nutty, right-wing article of faith that China's (not very high) share of our national debt matters.  But overall, I support this.

Ok then.  My perception is new French nouns like 'Selfie' (presuming that is a French word) are almost always Masculine.  Am I right on that one GF?

Don't forget that masculine combines masculine and neutral i.e genre non marqué d'après l'Académie française so it is more of a jack of all trades. Something the feminists won't understand since they base their feminisation campaigns on English.
Un selfie, par conséquent. Auto-portrait is too complicate of a word I guess, or too precise.

Just read on Krugman that the employment rate in France is like seven percentage points higher than in the U.S. :frog:

Sure they have higher employment and pay for the average Pierre and Pauline but the rich have done far worse than here in the US.  Just an economic disaster really.

Our unemployment rate is still 3-4 points lower than France's.  But I'm shocked to hear of Krugman twisting numbers.

So France has both higher employment rate, and higher rate of people who are not employed but would like to be?   :hmm:  And we're supposed to be the hard-working ones?

I suspect French regulations mean it's easier to raise a family while working full time, so you get less stay-at-home moms.
