I used to do something similar with one of the Battletech source books... it had all these rules for creating a mercenary company and buying and maintaining mechs, paying salaries, etc.  My first exposure to accounting.

I recently rediscovered in a box of old stuff stored in my parent's attic that they wanted to clear out, a whole Dungeons and Dragons world I once spent months creating when I was 13 or so. Now that was a trip down memory lane!

We've got a slight emergency in the MIM household. We have a trip all planned and plane tickets and airbnb places paid, but the someone realized her passport was expired. By six weeks.

I am focusing on being supportive and awesome, because that's me. But she's freaking the fuck out. Our flight to Vienna is in eight days and she's got an expired passport.

I think we'll be driving to the passport office in San Francisco tonight or tomorrow.

Can't you just pay for an emergency passport?

Yay I have a fun trip to San Francisco in a couple hours. I refuse to give her a hard time over this until after.
