Where'd you go? Any highlights, other than the washing machines?

It was quite fascinating to see the old style temples and how different they are to the ones that were built later in Japanese history, after Chinese influence became stronger.

I eat at Subway a lot for lunch and nearly all of them around here are Indian-owned with (I assume) the owner's relatives comprising most of the staff.  I always wondered if serving roast beef or ham/bacon compromised their religious views in their mind, assuming they were either Hindu or Muslim.

Language evolves.

A 5th grader who has not learned how to spell isn't proof of the evolution of language.

Taking away our Ham would be 100 times worse than taking away our ability to speak French. A THOUSAND TIMES.

Grammar is a means of ordering language to ease communication.  The lack of it produces recent examples such as this :

QuoteSince we seem to be moving into an era where money if the main way to make money it would seem by doing so you would be damning your children to slave away in the lower classes.

So, yes, grammar is very important.
The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

How so? How would grammar change that statement? Its understandable as it is.

I have plenty of grammer, just no commas.
