I forgot that, but I grew up (partially) in one of my cities too. :)

My hometown was probably too small to make the list-- it's a fairly dark red around that area.

My dialect covers an odd band of territory from Maryland all the way west through central Missouri, with the exception of Cincinnati, oddly enough.  Wonder what it is that I say differently than the yokels here.

What's the outlandish part? A european nation thinking of defending itself?

The Swiss are awesome  :swiss:

It is a rather dull place from all accounts.

Mine was startlingly accurate, too.  Waterbury, Conn. and Yonkers, N.Y. were my top two, and I've got connections to both places from my formative years.  I guess I'm just surprised it's subtle enough to distinguish those particular swaths of territory from the general mass of New York-influenced speech (North Jersey, Long Island, etc.) on the one hand and the rest of southern New England (eastern Conn., Tim Ortiz country, etc.) on the other.

Is she still in the biz? Her letter doesn't really make that clear.

   Most Similar Cities

2    Grand Rapids MI    47.1
3    Flint MI    46.0
4    Provo UT    45.9
5    Detroit MI    45.7

No high numbers. I moved around too much. But since I spent all of my elementary school years in Brockport, Rochester is the exact city I'd expect if the test worked. Utah in the list is funny. Ohio not on the list is also funny.  :P
