Does anyone know BJU (Bob Jones University) Press? They seem to be a publisher of Christian fundamentalist school books. I got an email from them looking for permission to possibly use a photo I took, that's on my site. They said in the email that they're a non-profit company.

Bob Jones University is pretty famous as a fundy school.  Until 2000, the university had a rule banning interracial dating.

I assume this is their in-house printing arm.

I hate dealing with insurance companies.

I got a call the other day from my auto insurance broker.  I was happy with them so I never switched insurance companies or brokers when I moved to Yukon (plus, as I said, I hate dealing with insurance companies).

They ask me - so where are you living?

I tell them Yukon - just like on your file since I get paperwork in the mail.

Reply - oh.  Well your company doesn't like dealing out of province, so they're not going to renew your insurance next month.

me - But I've lived here over 2 years!

them - oh.  Well they just realized it.




Now I have to get new insurance.  Which means tracking down driver's abstracts and auto experience letters for the past 6 years.  At least my most recent company was helpful in that respect, but I switched companies about 5 years ago.

When I try to contact my previous company, it turns out they were bought out 3 years ago.

I contact the buyer - "sorry we don't have those records".

Right in that it can't hurt Superman, but wrong in assessing that Jedi have red lightsabers. The "Red Light" bit should have come at the end, "Even with a Sith lightsaber which emits red light ...."
