I'm seriously considering leaving Languish.  Half of you mother fuckers are ignoring me anyway, my family is disintegrating and I'm in great pain every minute of the day.  I'm sure Marty and Grumbler will consider this a great victory.  Grumbler has spent several years trying to get everyone to ignore me and Marty has been trying to provoke me to suicide for years.

I dunno, I'll think about it.

"I'll do it! I'll..i'll really do it! I'm gonna jump!"

why isn't anyone looking at me?

Because you're fucking a pillow with Faye Valentine's face on it.

And don't you give me shit because Cowboy Bebop is too mainstream.  It was fucking great.

Cowboy Bebop is mainstream, and a masterpiece. Its popularity is helped by how easily an american audience can get into it- there isn't much "Japanese" about Cowboy Bebop. Its excellent dub, a rare case of surpassing the original, also helped. But I would like to give the public some credit that it is so popular simply because it is an absolutely outstanding work.

edit: Faye Valentine, though? The worst kind of woman!

Probably why it was actually worth watching.
The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

Because you're not photogenic enough to get the reality show you crave.

No, don't go. I still like you.

I think a lot fewer folks have you on ignore than you think. Neil was even thinking of getting rid of ignore.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

I liked Faye Valentine's character more when she was called Mine Fujiko. Which is a disingenuous statement, because I disliked her as the worst kind of woman then, too.

I am curious, though: What makes you like her? She's deceitful, money-obsessed, self-absorbed and treacherous. You can't trust her, she has expensive tastes, and she lies to herself as well as everyone else. She tries to fill her own emptiness at others' expense. Is it just her use of sensuality to bend others to her will that you like? Or do you self-destructively envision yourself interceding for such a woman?

I'm compiling a list of acceptable anime women so I can fit in with the cool kids on the internet. It's embarrassing and I'm sure languish will get a kick out of it, so I may well share.
