 Are you sure? That sounds like something which would have been reported on the news.

It does, doesn't it?  But instead I got it from Time magazine.

Brazil.

Why would this be surprising?  Brazil is much bigger than France and the UK in every possible way.  Plus it has an absurd amount of natural resources.

It's surprising because as Squeeze said it's the kind of thing that one would expect to be greeted with more wailing and pontificating.

I've spent most of the evening listening to a pretty cool band called Die Antwoord that plays a genre I thought I'd never hear: South African hip-hop. The band members all take stage personas, and are frontman MC Ninja, singer Yo-Landi Vi$$er and DJ Hi-Tek (apparently a rotating performer, as it's a different guy in every video).

If you want to check them and want to learn to swear in Afrikaans, they have a few visually cool and/or bizarre videos around. And the chick is hot and her voice is hipnotic.

Oh I posted about them a bit ago in the listening thread (might have been post re-boot). This South African had me listening to them. Quite odd but somewhat enjoyable.

Yup, they have a really catchy beat in all their songs. I didn't know if the listening thread would be the right place as there seems to be little conversation going on and wanted to see if someone was curious about thme so I posted here instead.

I wish them both the best of luck with their pending bowel movements.

Supposedly part of the Evil Boy song is about traditional tribal circumcision.

Was familiar with Die Antwoord. They aren't cool like Bok van Blerk is cool

In the UK, sure. Brazil is unlikely to pass us this century.
