Looks like the FCC is going after foreign made routers. Except no router are made in American with exception of starlink... sort of. Kind of vague. Even those are for sat internet which while hyped for a while isn't really that used in comparison to land line. Another wrinkle is that routers already approved keep their approval. In keeping with the current American trend the wording of what's going to be banned is confused and confusing.

So, what's going on?

Probably something stupid and corrupt.

The idea of carving out an exception for your buddies is such a Trumpian way of writing laws.

That news convinced me to finally get the new router I was looking at. Goodbye Verizon G1100, you've served me well for eleven (!) years. Hello Asus ET9, may you put an end to the wifi dead zones on the far side of the house.

That's really old news.  Also, many of the answers I have seen it generate are terrible and irrelevant.

Meta found negligent, hopefully many more of these cases will follow.  Governments have been slow to regulate social media and so recourse to the courts is the only viable option

QuoteThe social media company Meta and the video streaming service YouTube harmed a young user with design features that were addictive and led to her mental health distress, a jury found on Wednesday, a landmark decision that could open social media companies to more lawsuits over users' well-being.

Meta must pay $4.2 million in combined compensatory and punitive damages, and YouTube must pay $1.8 million.

The bellwether case, which was brought by a now 20-year-old woman identified as K.G.M., had accused social media companies of creating products as addictive as cigarettes or digital casinos. Citing features like infinite scroll and algorithmic recommendations, K.G.M. sued Meta, which owns Instagram and Facebook, and Google's YouTube, claiming they led to anxiety and depression.

In several surveys, the overwhelming first choice for what makes Canada unique is multiculturalism. This, in a world collapsing into stupid, impoverishing hatreds, is the distinctly Canadian national project.

Since we need some levity, opening day is not going well for the Pirates and Skenes.
