What really hits at later stages in life is not being able to lift as much as before.

50 kgs, or 100 lbs, feels heavy and then your shoulder on one side goes out of order and says "no".

Which is sort of bad for your feet, as you drop it there.

I'm sure there are others that could be listed before Mortarion's situation. It wasn't that bad.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.

I'm turning 40 this year.  :)
Feels like I'm already there to be honest.

Coffee has gotten really expensive. I've stopped ordering from some of my favorites like Len's coffee and Raven's Brew because of the prices. Even the big 5 pound bags from Royal Cup, which is passable but isn't really special, but my wife likes it so we get large orders, have gone up $10 bucks in price since March.

Reminds me of a recent Liam Neesson interview lamenting that he can't pretend to be 50 anymore.

I'm hitting 50 next year which feels very unreal, esp. as I associate that with "old fogeys" and have to catch myself when I see folks in their late forties, because I tend to label them as "old" (if they look the part). My boss is 3 years my junior and he also looks much younger than he is. (But my Irish colleague looks like mid-50s, though he's mid-40s.)

To quote a t-shirt: "It's weird being the same age as old people."

My dad died aged 56. I think I'm in better health than he was when he was my age, but still. My mom made it to 79, so I hope I have her genes. :P

People are generally shocked when I tell them my age. A colleague asked me how old my company profile picture is, because I look the same - it's over 10 years old. And I told him to note that I now have distinctly more grey in my beard. :D

There's always been people who look older than their age. I've known a few guys who went bald in their teens.
But the gap seems to grow ever larger with age. There's some people in their 30s who look absolutely ancient, others who look more their age and a few looking like they're still in their 20s.

I think I meant Angron as number one.
Chaos....that's a separate bigger issue. I think chaos is one of those things where knowledge of it empowers it. Though the idea that humans just switch to the webway than it ceases to be an issue seems very flawed. And certainly the primarchs should have been able to handle it. He should have told them.
Lorgar...I'm not sure. Lorgar was bad. Religion empowers chaos. He needed to be shown. Still bad dad but wouldn't put it higher than Mortarion.

I have beaten my father with 6 years already.

Turning 50 is no big deal.
I celebrated my best friend's 60th birthday by doing lines of coke and smoking ganja. With him, obviously, and another friend.

Our problem was that only one of us (me) had remembered to bring glasses, but I had no bank card to divide the lines (which were divided on a Latter Days' Saints flyer), so we sort of shared the work. It was not exactly Escobar quality.

Getting older is not a bad thing. It is better than the alternative.

The Emperor is anathema to Chaos. Worship of him doesn't empower chaos. He should have just set up a church of himself from the start.

A possible path that would have led to something better than 40k, but still a bad path that the emperor wanted to avoid.
Any religion fuels the warp itself, not just one entity.
He wanted the Imperial Truth to spread so there'd be no belief in anything outside of scientific understanding, which in turn would lead to the warp and the chaos gods being fed less.
Also all that mana going into him would have corrupted him into a chaos deity. I've seen some fanfics out there about the emperor's life support being turned off and he turns into the god of order, which is in many ways just as bad as chaos.

For me the tipping point was around age 30 (or moving countries :P ). Before age 30 people usually guessed me to be older, since then, people guessed me to be younger. :D

Because he's stuck on the Golden Throne, unable to do anything but soak up that worship and stew in agony. If he was alive and walking around doing stuff, I think it would have been a different story.

That would quickly threaddift into "who would win: three biremes or two triremes."
