It does this by setting a default of 15%.
Lol Wut. Who tips that much? And just for the delivery person too?
Considering the mark ups on the app I wonder how many tip at all.

That's the yank tip rate.

15% is the low end for delivery in NA. The markup doesn't go to the driver, it's the restaurant doing it to cover Ubers take. If you get delivery (from anywhere) tip the driver. They make shit. Don't want to tip go pick up. That's where having a car comes in handy :P

I haven't tipped 15% in years. I try to keep it to 18% but usually find myself tipping 20%. I have a really bad habit of tipping like I'm a regular.

I don't do meditation.  I drink alcohol to relax, like normal people.

I tip delivery drivers around 10% sometimes more sometimes less but seldom more than £2.

I tend to tip all delivery drivers £2, same for short cabs (long journeys = £5).

I think doing it as a percent like that app sounds counterintuitive to me. Only really think about that in restaurants.

What's the comparison budget between the two of them in dollar amount though?

What bugs me is when I go to pick up some food, they hand me the Interac terminal, and it defaults to "how much of a tip do you want to pay".  Exactly what is the service I'm tipping for in this situation?
