I was not saying that illegally enslaving people only ever has happened to immigrants in 21st century Texas and California in the history of the world, if there was some kind of confusion about that, only that I have heard of these kinds of things happening to immigrants here.

Lerch-san, the tourism mascot for Niigata Prefecture, is based on Theodor Von Lerch, an Austro-Hungarian general who introduced skiing to Japan in 1911. Lerch-san is a towering 270cm tall.

It's actually not. I discovered then that actually, MC Hammer has been devouring works of history related to the early modern Atlantic World - including on some really niche topics (history of cartography, visual representations, etc.). He offered to host.
