Liver is the only innard I really enjoy. Fried, with fried onions and some apple sauce. :mmm:
Do tongues count as offal?  They're really nice when fresh.

Maybe not, it's muscle after all, but so is heart...  :hmm:

Only British infrastructure planning would allow having two stations in the same large city, Bristol, one named Patchway the other Bristol Parkway.    :bowler:

Oh and they're around a mile apart, but different lines, so only one connecting service between them a day; I wonder how many people have gone to catch a train or have gotten off at at the wrong one down the years?

So I checked on wiki, the first station Patchway was opened in 1863 and Parkway was built in 1972 by ....... drum role ..... British Rail.   :hmm:

Tyr will now switch to defending it.
The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

That is bizzare then. The pattern elsewhere in the country was the opposite.
I have no idea about Bristol so can only theorise there was some plan which was cancelled halfway.

Edit - OK. Checking up seems I had a blonde moment and didn't properly read parkway as... Well Parkway.
These aren't the main Bristol stations but outer suburb stations. Makes sense now.

Arguably Bristol Parkway is Bristol's 2nd major station, Bristol is one of those odd large British cities with only one main central station, though maybe I too am having a blonde moment and forgetting others?

I'm just going on the fact I've been through Bristol from the East, North and West and all trains stop at Temple Meads, exempting trians via Parkway which as you note is an outer station.

Parkway is Bristol's second train station. It is on a different more direct London-Wales line so if there's engineering works on the London-Bristol-Swansea line then you can normally still get a different route to Parkway and then in or out of Temple Meads on the local trains/bus.

You sure are knowledgeable about Bristol.

No surprise, given it's position as England's third or fourth largest city, there's a good chance a Languishite will have lived there, also people like me living in the south or south west of the country will inevitably go via there on some journeys.

It should be noted the Bristol conurbation is one of the worst cities in the UK to cross or travel into by vehicle. :bleeding:

The extent of my knowledge about Bristol comes from Treasure Island.

There's so many hidden bus lanes and there's one particular intersection where its impossible to leave without breaking a rule, you must just choose which.

IIRC he actually lived there.

Yep :)

Lived in and love Bristol. It's a great city.

I have no idea bout vehicle stuff because I can't drive - but I will know the local rail map surprisingly well
